I despise war and violence of any kind.  Hoping for such a horrific outcome is beyond despicable.

Just wanted to see how confident you are in your prognosticatory abilities. Ok, no bet. We’ll revisit this prediction in a month.

I very, very, very MUCH hope that I will have been proven wrong!!

The West's proxy war with Russia must end.

You can not win against evil by ignoring it or surrendering to it.

And sometimes you just can' t win.....

Probably because the secret ballot allows folks to vote free of fear of repercussions.

I doubt you'd like anyone doxxing you.

How so?  Why should not everyone's vote be publicly known??

It's none of anyone's business who I do or don't vote for.

And I don't need the nuts who think differently than I showing up on my lawn with torches and pitchforks.

It was bad enough when there was a D and an R line for voting during the last couple elections here.

Public votes for extremists to make lists from...nope...that's asking for people to get hurt.

I guess a supply train supporting an invasion upon people, some of whom are fat, doesn't really count?

There's a trolley-problem involved, to be sure. But you're arguing to let the train run as it sees fit. I'm a fan of doing nothing sometimes, letting shit sort itself out, but this isn't one of those occasions, because there's a mind behind this war. It is not random happenstance, and doing nothing will not forestall further depredations.

1938 called, it wants its strategy back.

But -- but -- the Russians have collected votes, door-to-door, at gunpoint, showing that anywhere from 88 to 97% of Ukrainians in the Donbas support joining Russia. Surely this is an honest, free, and fair election, and no one was afraid that their vote might be scrutinized.

Your vote matters!

Not me.  But I am not going to get my panties all in a wad over the possibility.  Hell, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

I am old enough to remember the hiding under desks drills.  Still not going to lose my mind over the possibility.

There are those on this thread who act like if you don't support the United States and other Western countries sending arms to Ukraine and providing military intelligence to them, then, well, you must be pro-Putin.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Putin's invasion of Ukraine was and remains an intrinsically evil act.  (Consider that phrase a precise and technical moral definition, which it is.)  Having said that, Ukraine's freedom is not worth my life nor war with Russia.

The West's proxy war with Russia must end.

(Bold mine)

It’s not up to you to decide if Ukraine’s freedom is worth war with Russia. In the current circumstances, it’s up to Ukraine.

You're pounding on open doors. I don't want them to have any more of my tax dollars, or, that of my children, who, someday, will be "servicing" that debt. And, yes, $0.02 is important!
