Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine

"a full 35 hundred meters of that goodness over here" - my favorite line.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Another data point to show how far Elon has fallen down the alt-right rabbit hole.

Just as obvious, countries should now avoid relying upon any Musk enterprise in order to avoid this sort of leverage. I'd like to see NASA review its contracts with SpaceX, for one. We wouldn't want our national space program beholden to the whims of some twatwaffle like Musk, I shouldn't think.

He says he doesn't want people using his inventions for war.

Is this a right-wing attitude? It used to be that the right wing is generally pro-war, while the left is against. But I suppose all that has changed now.

Funny he didn't problem with that when he agreed to this could there be another reason he wants to sabotage Ukraine's efforts?

Yes considering the right is essentially routing for Putin and you keep confusing pro-war with pro-defense or anti-Russian -invasion. Republicans by contrast were all for being the invaders.

Pro war? You know who is most pro war? The guy who started the war. The guy who deliberately is targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. That guy is pro fucking war.

But yes, i am pro war too as it can get, when its about defending a country from invasion. I am pro war, but at least i am not pro invasion, like Bel.

Prince Charles: 'Putin is behaving just like Hitler'

Prince Charles has sensationally likened Vladimir Putin to Adolf Hitler.

In a withering verdict on the actions of the Russian president in Ukraine, he told a woman who lost relatives in the Nazi Holocaust: ‘And now Putin is doing just about the same as Hitler.’

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I think that some people manage to convince themselves that, war being so terrible, it's best if it ends and even if that means russia gobbles up ukraine. Unfortunately, this is false, even a surrender wouldn't save ukrainian people from the future russia intends for them, and models in the present. Stolen children. Reeducation centers. Labor camps. War crimes. The cruelty and the killing wouldn't end if the war did, there simply wouldn't be anyone fighting for them anymore.

It's not the first time.  He blocked access in annexed crimea as well.  I find it interesting that these very strongly held moral principles that musk has just keep aligning with the interests of the invader.  Then again, musks interests are intrinsically bound to putins.  The current value of his business empire is directly tied to assumptions about future growth in china and india, for example.

Or did anyone think that tesla was actually worth more than toyota, volkswagon, daimler, ford, and gm...combined?

Quoth Ernesto Zapata: "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees."

The Ukrainians exemplify this. This is the Battle of Britain of our era, and just as back then, we owe the beleaguered our support, in my opinion.
