You say, "militant atheist," like it's a bad thing. What exactly do you feel is bad about militant atheism? What harm does it do that troubles you?

Since you asked, from Wiki: "The League of Militant Atheists[1] (Russian: Сою́з Вои́нствующих Безбо́жников, tr. Soyúz Voínstvuyushchikh Bezbózhnikov, lit. 'The League of Militant Godless'[2]), also Society of the Godless (Russian: О́бщество безбо́жников, tr. Óbshchestvo Bezbózhnikov) or Union of the Godless (Russian: Сою́з Безбо́жников, tr. Soyúz Bezbózhnikov), was an atheistic and antireligious organization of workers and intelligentsia that developed in Soviet Russia under influence of the ideological and cultural views and policies of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1947.[3] It consisted of party members, members of the Komsomol youth movement, those without specific political affiliation, workers and military veterans.[4]

The league embraced workers, peasants, students, and intelligentsia. It had its first affiliates at factories, plants, collective farms (kolkhozy), and educational institutions. By the beginning of 1941 it had about 3.5 million members from 100 ethnicities. It had about 96,000 offices across the country. Guided by Bolshevik principles of communist propaganda and by the Party's orders with regards to religion, the League aimed at exterminating religion in all its manifestations and forming an anti-religious scientific mindset among the workers.[5][6] It propagated atheism and scientific achievements,[7] conducted so-called "individual work" (a method of sending atheist tutors to meet with individual believers to attempt to make them renounce their faith); most of the peasantry was unimpressed, and even the party apparatus regarded the League as meddling and inefficient.[8] The League's slogan was "Struggle against religion is struggle for socialism", which was meant to tie in their atheist views with the Communist drive to 'build Socialism'. One of the slogans adopted at the 2nd congress proclaimed: "Struggle against religion is struggle for the five-year plan!"[9]"

We've seen this before; maybe it's not part of the historical consciousness of the West, for whatever reason, but those who remember/have read what Militant Atheism promoted in the Soviet Union, including formerly Christian Countries like Russia, know it had harmful consequences including persecution. And it all started with the false claim that religion was not false but also allegedly evil.

An example of something modern western Militant Atheists have said that I strongly disagree with, Angrboda, is that Teaching Religion to Children is allegedly "Child Abuse". That's totally false and completely wrong-headed imo, and totally undermines the evil of actual child abuse, which of course we condemn. When they say teaching religion is child abuse, the implication is that, as of course parents who do abuse their children ought to be jailed and have their children taken away from them, so allegedly parents should not teach their children about God and Faith, and also Gender etc. We disagree. If you are an Atheist, then you can educate your children however you want. And likewise, we Christians have the same human right, to educate our children according to our Faith and our Conscience.

It's perfectly possible to be an Atheist or a Non-Theist - what I call a Normie Atheist - without believing Religion or Religious People are evil.

That is your idiotic interpretation and the fallacy from extremes.

Interestingly he is doing mental gymnastics to claim that atheists are calling Christians evil while he is directly claiming that atheists are evil.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

And yet, religious being of the opinion that atheists are evil is an order of magnitude more common than the reverse. At least we tend to hate the sin and not the sinner.

(July 10, 2023 at 9:14 pm)Nishant Xavier Wrote: So, let's discuss the Trans Issue. How many genders or sexes are there? Are gender and sex the same? Should child genital mutilation, or so-called sex change surgeries, even for young children, be allowed or promoted as a good thing, when it can be irreparably harmful for life, and regretted later on? Etc. For those who make the decision as 18+ year adults, that's one thing. But children?

Recently, we've had people from all across the Political Spectrum, i.e. People on Both Left and Right, and People from a variety of religious convictions and non-convictions, including Atheists like Dawkins, devout Hindus like British-Indian PM Rishi Sunak, and of course famous Harry Potter Author, J.K. or Joanne Kathleen Rowling, not at all coming to this issue from a Biblical Perspective, acknowledge there are serious challenges/issues that need to be discussed here. And of course, J K Rowling in particular has been the object of almost incredible hate simply for saying, in essence, she believes a man who attempts to change his sex is not completely and fully a Biological Woman. Richard Dawkins, the well known Militant Atheist, has said there are only 2 sexes or genders, and these are identical. Rishi Sunak said Biology is still the best determinant of who is a woman or a man. Many have called this the defining the women's rights issue of our time, whether men, even some who just identify as women without a full-blown surgery, should then be allowed into women's bathrooms/locker rooms, and compete in women's sports, like athletics, swimming etc.

And of course, Piers Morgan, talk show host, when someone on his show said, "we can identify as whatever we want", so that in this perspective, there could be a 100 Genders, Morgan replied: "Ok, then, I identify as a Black Lesbian". Lol.

From the Christian Perspective, the answer is very obvious: "1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness. 2Male and female He created them, and He blessed them." (Gen 5:1-2). This is confirmed by basic biology.

Let's Debate.
God Bless.

I’m still waiting for you to explain to me how you know the first cause is a being, and a “he”.

I guess it would depend on the religion. Teaching kids your religion has certainly been child abuse.

@Nishant Xavier

You realize that the League of Militant Atheists was dissolved three quarters of a century ago, right?

Golly. It’s a good thing that no one in the trans community has ever been bullied by right wing radical Christians.

When the power structure makes a concerted effort to strip trans people of their rights and basic human dignity, deny them medical care, and criminalize them for what they are, stand up to them isn’t bullying, it’s a response to bullying.

Or bullied to the level they felt suicide is the only way out.
