2024 US Presidential Election

Two. Marianne Williamson, an author of self-help books, and Dean Phillips, a congressperson from Minnesota. Both of them together are barely a blip on the radar.

I thought Williamson dropped out. I could be wrong.

Her flat denial of America's race issues DQs her for me.

It's pretty much de rigeur for any potential Republican candidate these days. I don't think I'd agree with many of her policies, but I'd rather her than Trump win the Republican nomination. Haley lies like a rug, trying to be all things to all people, but I don't think she'd be a bad president.

I think she's right on much foreign policy, and sure, she's better than Trump. I think there's a pretty big gap between "better than Trump" and "good enough".

So she did. Mea culpa.

I don't think this is a good year for purism or red lines. Biden's emphasis on bipartisanship and compromise is right on. Not supporting Haley is unintentionally supporting Trump.

I'm not voting in the GOP primary, so my opinion won't affect anything. In the general, I probably won't vote for either major candidate. Texas will go Republican no matter what, I think.

You can support Haley in other ways. Your vote isn't your only resource. To say your opinion won't affect anything is an exaggeration. It already has. (Btw, Texas is an open primary state, so you could vote in the Republican primary. As to Trump or Haley, if you don't participate, you've still made a choice.)

Haley won't win here. As far a supporting her in other ways, I won't support anyone who denies the racial problems we have.

As for Trump/Haley, you're right. By not choosing either, I choose neither. They're both failures, for different reasons.
