2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
At least he seems to understand who his opponents are, which is more than I can say about Trump.

Sure, Biden has some problems, so Republicans could put someone better, but instead they put a guy who is worse.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I suspect those lapses were tactical as much as mnemonic.

Embrace the power of and. Trump is both a criminal, and a faltering geriatric.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The New York Times is mostly a government mouthpiece. Krugman is not someone I consider impartial.

He may be correct, but he's not disinterested, and considering we've already had several cases of high-level people blatantly lying to support Biden, I'd take this opinion piece with a large grain of salt.

Look, this guy is credible and reliable, but just like others who would dismiss this for bad reasons, you choose to let your biases get to you that makes you dismiss this, or choose to dismiss this for whatever other possible reason. People try to look for excuses for anything, even if it is factual or credible. You can’t really refute facts, and it is hard to overcome the credibility of the credible. Plus, those such as hardcore republicans saying otherwise is still not a good source; not that you said anything about that, I am just making a point.

Everyone has flaws, but it is better to see if the good overcome the bad rather than not go with a person because of one flaw. Any speech problems Biden has is minor and not really impactful on being a politician. He has much less flaws than Trump has. Biden has more good things about him than bad thing, unlike Trump, so I do not think a simple and singular flaw is going to be enough to put him down or make him bad.

^It all boils down to this: Which of these two candidates present the greatest threat to American democracy?

You're wasting your time. You're talking to a guy who dismisses NYT as propaganda while reading RT with nary a qualm.

He also only accepts as truth anything said that is anti-American.  And feels like he has the right to assess bias in other people.

He is as anti-American as it gets as well as hating on most of us here...watch for the snarky remarks about the people on the forum.

He moved to Japan, is an art snob, and therefore better than any of us.

Don’t worry about it. I just wanted to say this one thing to him. That is all.

A quick google search will find numerous examples of people who have the same impression of biden from interacting with him...most notably, from the magats themselves. That they walk into the office with whatever batshit ask they're currently masturbating to online and he steamrolls them - and yet they still seem compelled to mention that he's better prepared and funny and...well....likeable.

That's probably what pisses them off the most. Joes got a honey dick, even they fall for it, and america just hates them.
