In a post on X on Thursday morning, the right-wing group Heritage Action said, “President Trump has made it clear to Indiana leaders: if the Indiana Senate fails to pass the map, all federal funding will be stripped from the state.”

“Roads will not be paved. Guard bases will close. Major projects will stop,” the group said in the tweet. “These are the stakes and every NO vote will be to blame.”

The Indiana Senate voted 19-31 against a bill to redraw the state’s congressional districts to favor Republicans.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he has pardoned Tina Peters, a former county clerk in Colorado who was convicted in state court on felony charges related to efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

“Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest,” wrote Trump in a post on Truth Social. “Today I am granting Tina a full Pardon for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”

Apparently, some dispute that by "United States" in the clause about pardons, the term refers to the federal government, suggesting that by "United States" they meant the states collectively, extending his pardon power to any state acts of any of the collected "United States." It's a theory, I guess. There is no precedent on the matter, so it could, potentially, be up for resolution by the Supreme Court.
