When people say ''I'm honest' or "what you see is what you get", they are invariably lying.
What they tend to mean is "I'm blunt and insensitive" (like me)
Just as with all other human behaviour,it is often in our best interest to tell the truth. When it is not,we lie.

Where did all that come from? Thanks anyway. I'll bear it in mind.

Pads just one of those "honest" kinds of people. That's why he gets all the girlies.

I try not to be a humbug,:I have limited success overall.(will lie my arse off if it seems like a good idea at the time)
Last dated a girlie in 1978.
The last female I dated was 52. The one who I am currently trying to root is 56.
Not a girlie in sight.

Well, maybe we shouldn't mention that to them. I'm sure they wouldn't mind feeling young for a moment, maybe two, idk what kind of stamina you have but I'm thinking three is the upper limit? I'm a tad bit younger and already reaching the point where sending a postcard in advance, falling asleep on the couch, and claiming "it's the thought that counts" sounds like a good idea.

Respect must be earned. By default, I do not respect someone until they have proven themselves worthy of my respect.
Religion is not a good way to start off towards gaining it.

I have no problem with affording people respect who have earned it. That said, I have no problem with being courteous to people I first meet. First impressions are important, and is a door that swings both ways. I am in no way obligated to respect ideas/arguments I don't believe in regardless of who promotes them. That does not prevent me from considering said arguments before discarding them. But I refuse to consider the same arguments over and over or accept that I should respect them no matter how many times I reject them. There has to be a point where we recognize it's time to move on.

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! I respect most everyone regardless of their choices or religion. I've met some 'trying' individuals in college. For example 1 of the girls was in Veterinary school and failing out of most of the classes. We asked her if she really wanted to be a Vet and maybe she could try a different major that would allow her to pass and get out of school. She told us that God wanted her to be a Vet, she didn't choose that path and that is why she was in that major. I tried my hardest to convince her that she should make her own choices in life. I mean she tried her hardest several times and failed every-time. At a certain point you have to say this just isn't working and move on, obviously she wasn't happy and I can't imagine a god that wants someone to be unhappy all of the time, in her world obviously that is the case. As far as I know she is still in school and that was a few years ago. Her and I never really got along, she said she didn't like the way I talked, Le 'Sigh.
