What a fuss to make over how it is done.
Sure, there are filters and programs to do so automatically, I doubt many people thought it was done purely by hand. But to create effects like this, and to do them WELL, takes time and effort, and fine tuning. Most completely automated processes look crap. For instance cartoonising a photo.. looks easy, loads of filters, but you really need to get in and do some hard work to make it look great. Nice work Tibby, its a really thoughtful and sweet gesture. I'm currently working on scanning, cleaning up, and colourising old black and white photographs as a present for my mother for her birthday next month, and I can appreciate a bit of hard work when I see it.
