Truth, I think you are wrong. I think you are deluded. I think religion has driven you mad as a March hare.
A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

I don't have an exact date, but the bible says, "beware of these signs". And the Euphrates river drying up is one of them. And Famine, Pestilence, War, Rumors of war, troubles within politics, Natural disasters and Russia supply Iran with weapons..etc,etc.

Truth old sock:I don't believe in prophecy, precognition,or any other form of fortune telling. The reason is simple :I have never, ever, seen ANY proof for such claims, ever.
What is it with the lunar religious right and their focus on the Book of Revelations? Is it simply because it's SO vague that it lends itself to eisegesis* more than any other book in the canon? (Oh,Revelations is NOT included the Eastern rites canon)
At the Catholic school I attended,Revelations was pretty much ignored,as being the purview of saints and fanatic nutters.(the latter being how we saw evangelicals and literalists)
"The Rapture" is a C18th invention, expanded in the C19th by John Darby. It is seen by many mainstream Christians as further proof of the idiocy of the religious right.
Quote:The Catholic and Orthodox churches as well as the Reformed denominations have no tradition of a preliminary return of Christ and reject the doctrine, in part because they cannot find any reference to it among any of the early Church fathers and find its biblical foundation weak.[9]. Some also reject it because they interpret prophetic scriptures in either an amillennial or postmillennial fashion.

* Quote:Eisegesis (from the Greek root εις, meaning into, in, among) is the process of misinterpreting a text in such a way that it introduces one's own ideas, reading into the text. This is best understood when contrasted with exegesis. While exegesis draws out the meaning from the text, eisegesis occurs when a reader reads his/her interpretation into the text. As a result, exegesis tends to be objective when employed effectively while eisegesis is regarded as highly subjective. An individual who practices eisegesis is known as an eisegete, as someone who practices exegesis is known as an exegete. The term eisegete is often used in a mildly derogatory fashion.
