Conspiracy Theorists (Or Conspiracy Nuts :P)

  • There were not weapons of mass destruction but lots of hype from the mainstream media that is sponsored by defense contractors.
  • The United States went into Iraq and Libya. There have been drone strikes in Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia.
  • Virtually nobody denies that major corporations have significant influence over the government via lobbyists.
  • After deregulation of financial firms played a huge role in the recent recession, the original legislation (Glass-Steagall) that could have prevented that contributing problem was never brought back. Big banks appear in the top contributors list for both presidential candidates.
  • Historically, governments have been tyrannical and oppressed their people in awful ways. Even now, there are dictatorial governments like that around the world. (To me, it does not seem far fetched to wonder if history will repeat itself.)
  • Few people deny that civil liberties are at least gradually eroding after NSA whistleblowers coming out, PATRIOT Act complaints circulating, TSA searches being posted online, etc.
  • Do NOT take this as me buying the conspiracy theory, because I don't, but I saw a YouTube video where Alex Jones explicitly predicted the twin towers would be attacked and the government would blame it on Osama Bin Laden.

I could on, but the point is, the conspiracy theorists seem incorrect. But at least they are not as obsequious and naively trusting as many of the people who laugh at them.

Ok the NWO thing isn't a conspiracy, it is a widley known and accept fact that it is the ultimate goal of the U.N. They even talk about it on t.v. and newspapers. Even obama talks about it when he's on camera, the goal is to get you preconditioned to the idea of NWO. Not to actually enact it, just throw it in your face for a while so you don't get shocked about it later. Im not exactly sure about the osama thing all I know is that we fought with them as allies before the gulf war. When the russians occupied iraq, we trained them, sold them weapons and made them everything they are today. You cannot teach a dog to bite, then not expect it to bite you at some point in time. Expecially if you try to starve it to death afterwards. We starved iraq with debts and sanctions, shit it worked well. Not to mention we condemed them for using the chemical weapons we sold them, the way we told them to. You think chemical or biological weapons are for defense or to strike military targets? Everyone should know those type of weapons specificaly are meant to target civilians.

Why do they talk about it on t.v. all the time? All the news outlets and even the u.n. channel does. Call me looney, I will call you retarded because it is there in your face, its not subliminal but you still cant see it lol. Watch some t.v. if it doesn't kill you, it will pop up eventually, especially on fox.

Funny though you would call me the crazy person, when undoubtedly everyone on this website is insane one way or another. It's called being human.

This is a quote from your post #15 on this thread: "Ps. turn the t.v. off it makes you stupid."

What kind of special stupid then allows you to use TV as evidence for your batshittery?

Oooo nice, yeah so right on. There is a reason I said it makes you stupid, because it's all skewered points of view designed to shut down your mental cognition. It's designed to get you preconditioned to the goals the elite have set out for you. Which is another reason why I can use it, because if it is all a bunch of propaganda, which also provides evidence for my point in it pushing these idea's into your head. Yes it makes you stupid, because it always pumps that crap out. Doesn't matter if its NWO bs, spider goats or pushing police state values into your head. It's all there and for the same reasons it's dumb, it's also proof.

The difference is I don't beleive fox news one bit, but I do want to see the perspective of those around me. So I can fully understand my own, and others. Don't act like I said for you to go watch will & grace.

p.s. I also posted my news sources. News paper, Fox News, Cnn, Msmbc, colbert r., daily show, radio news, Realclearpolotics.com, Infowars.com, Truthisscarey.com, Yahoo.com, Msn.com, youtube, occupywallst.org, word of mouth.

Flash forward 5 years, it's O-Dark-thirty, and the state just busted down your improvised rubble concealing wall sending shrink wrapped boxes of Dinty Moores all over the squirrel hole. What's the story...whats next?

Flash forward 5 years, you took me for granted, refused to do any research or studying yourself. Everyone is dead or in forced slavery.

You don't make tens of thousands of tanks, helicopters, hummers, anti personal vehicles and not use them. Especially when your only true enemies have absolutely no hope in attacking you other than through global nuclear war.

RE: Conspiracy Theorists (Or Conspiracy Nuts :P)

tl;dr

I believe that conspiracy theorists are a "type" just like say, schizotypy in fantasy prone individuals. It isn't simply that they are defectively processing information that others process successfully, they are processing information in different ways. Some of those peculiarities from my brief notes, i) anomolous data is evidence, ii) other conspiracies are evidence for this conspiracy, iii) certain truths are stigmatized and being covered up, iv) that it’s stigmatized and condemned by the mainstream is evidence of its truth, v) lack of proof is proof of the conspiracy, vi) disconfirming evidence must have been planted, vii) beliefs come before the search for evidence, viii) a common approach to all questions and conspiracies.

I do see a kissing point with fundamentalist religion, but one that is merely incidental. Different ideological communities coalesce around different principles for acquiring, evaluating, and sharing knowledge or belief. A scientifically oriented community is less likely to put stock in what an authority states if that authrotiy is in conflict with previous belief, however, a faith community, or a politically conservative community may be more willing to acquire the new knowledge provisionally despite the conflict. So yes, I believe CT theorists resemble fundamentalist religion in that they have a different set of epistemological standards. However I don’t believe they share much beyond that, except insofar as some of the epistemics of the two overlap.

You sound like the fictional John Nash in A Beautiful Mind; instead of periodicals, you rely on a mishmash of TV and radio for sources.
