Theism and Western atheism are on the same continuum. Both are realist.

So what?

So thank you for demonstrating that atheists like you think the same as theists.

What, you reckon that theists and atheists have to disagree on every point?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

These things are on a totally different scale. Virtual particles can appear from nothing via Quantum fluctuations. Very small, insignificant little particles. VS....an entire god, whole and fully functioning from the start, omnipotent, and omniscent. Is the latter reasonable at all? And you cannot say that because god is omnipotent he must exist because he cannot have created himself. Not a valid comparison.

Don't be an idiot. If we thought the same, we'd come to the same conclusions.

Quote:Yes you both are realist.

We share a philosophical stance, but we're not one and the same.

Yes you both are realist.

Atheist: God =/= real

Theist: God = real

What now?

I just noticed you said "you both" as in, not including yourself. Makes sense that you aren't a realist, considering that you seem to think the universe doesn't exist.

I'm using the Buddhist definition of realist.

And it is not that we claim non-existence, we merely remove claims for existence.

We do not put forth a philosophical position.

Nagarjuna said "If I had any position, I thereby would be at fault. Since I have no position, I am not at fault at all."

Aryadeva said "Against someone who has no thesis of “existence, nonexistence, or [both] existence and nonexistence,” it is not possible to level a charge, even if [this is tried] for a long time."

If I don't take a position, how can I ever be wrong? Genius!

But you have asserted the existence of a connection of all western thinking, so you are at fault, unless you relinquish that assertion of existence, because in so doing you have created a position for yourself.
