God is above conventional reason

1st sentence. In the beginning I am. (Literal translation). God = I am. Always present/timeless/omnipresent/the alpha and the omega.

You're shoe horning a modern scientific/naturalist understanding onto a culture that lacked that. You call them ignorant of naturalistic scientific information when the subject of their information still relevant to you in no way addresses science. Scientific understanding is a moving target. It would have been illogical for God to have imparted such understanding. <-- that would limit it to a single timeframe in human history.

If it's above our understanding, how do you even know that it's there?
You cannot identify it using the scientific method because it is supernatural: outside the bounds of science.

That it is beyond our understanding does not mean we know nothing about it. That would be a different description, like: "completely unknowable". <- Did you see that description in Christian literature anywhere? Me neither.

How is it that you and other religiously inclined people know about god?
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.

Fr0d0, you seem to be shoehorning yourself into an epistemological black hole. How would it be possible to gain any justified knowledge of God under your scenario?

By faith (acting upon trusted information).

What trusted information is that?

I believe the question specified "trusted information".

Why would anyone trust the bible?

That's the process. You scrutinise it and test it for consistency. Having understood what it means you can move to trust it to be true. Still you don't believe, as belief is acting upon your trust.

I don't believe that it's true though. I find it incredibly inconsistent, for instance
