Quote:God is real, you can know God. God is real.
Plenty of people have said that in their lifetimes and concluded that they were wrong. I for one, would have said that in my not too distant history.
But the thing is, he's not. You'll figure that out eventually, or you'll die and figure it out. Either way, don't push your religion on others like telling them they're going to hell because you're an earthly judge on such matters, then tell them you'll be REJOICING when they do. Then they won't tell you to take a long hike.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Link? That one is worthy of reporting. Clear violation of the preaching rule, IMO.

Darkstar do you pride yourself on having bourgeois values? You are an admirer of the university culture I see.

Remind me what the university culture is. If it is getting drunk, having sex and doing drugs, then no, I am not an admirer of it.

Well, that too, but also placing such a high value on entertainment culture and giving an artificial value that makes calling something a "platitude" a serious "logical" (ITS NOT COOL ENOUGH) argument, as opposed to what it is, the decadent tastes of a decaying society that spends massive amounts of money on entertainment while the world starves.
Bourgeois culture means thinking that you are a better person because you can appreciate fine art.
