If Jesus came back to life....what was his sacrifice?

As anguish was a matter of free will it is called masochism. So he got a hardon on the cross. Embarrassing perhaps as there were no loincloths.

As he was also the father there was no possible separation from himself. If there was separation there is no trinity. You can't have it all three ways at the same time.

I know you talk bullshit and then claim it is a mystery that you do not understand. [Image: animbovine.gif]

With what do you disagree? Blood sacrifice? Suicide? B movie? Please be specific.

Specifically, "demanded blood sacrifice"...

I presume the answer to who set the bar at blood sacrifice was him. Therefore it was demanded of himself. The bar could have been set at a hangnail. There needed to be no bar at all rather much simpler to change all the rules so there was no need for anything. Consistency is the bugaboo of small minds.

You presume? On what evidence and authority?

I was under the impression you folks were claiming your god was in charge of things. Pardon for my error. Who created the blood sacrifice requirement and imposed it on your god?

OK who scared off homocidlefreak, MIN what have you done now!
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

(May 4, 2013 at 8:00 am)goodnews Wrote: In a nut shell / Through Adam all men are with sin, and under the law, the wage's of sin is death. Therefore if all men are bound to death by the sins of one man, so can all men be loosed from those same binds, by the death of one man without sin. Jesus was without sin was sacrificed and died. God did not trick sin out of its wages, by the resurrection of His Son , had Jesus sinned even once He would not have bean able to take back His life, but as He was without sin it is death which was un-able to hold on to Him.

Never-mind that there are no contemporary or third party accounts of this and in fact the very number of the supposed witnesses who WERE there differs according to each Gospel...so we can throw this out pretty safely...

By the way, Jesus displayed signs of self-absorption and extreme narcissism; self-centered ideals of superiority...which, as I recall, is a sin.

Also the New Testament is reliant upon the Old Testament. And the Old Testament never spoke of hell. And Satan was never a demon cast from hell, either, in the Old Testament. Instead he was an angel working for Yahweh [which translates to "Sky God" in Hebrew] who was basically the guy Yahweh went to when he suspected humans of being weak and wanted conclusive proof, so he'd send Satan [Which literally translates to "Accuser," fitting given his job title] to go and test their loyalty and faith. Which is stupid because Yahweh is supposedly all-knowing, but apparently when it comes to human beings' minds, suddenly he's a powerless tool...

*Johnny Cash voice* And your argument goes down down down into a giant ring of fire, and it burns burns burns just like the garbage pits that the idea of hell came from...

Ok it didn't rhyme there but I'm not here to amuse you, just to get you to wake the hell up and actually take a stronger look at your book of myths. Maybe a lost cause, but if I can get you to pull your head on out of your good-news haze and wake up to reality, well, I'd hope someone else would smack me out of my delusions too, should I ever develop psychosis or something...

By the way, all of this "discussion" can be rendered moot via Ockham's Razor. Simplest answer is the best whereas the argument that brings up more questions than it answers must be discarded. Unfortunately for the theists on this board and all across the world, as this thread already shows, that removes virtually everything that they try to stand on, since every answer results in two more questions, even more difficult to answer, until eventually they cannot be answered.

And then theists wonder why atheists are so smug all the time when debating them. It's hard not to be smug when you know you can destroy a 5000-answer-long argument with only one simple phrase: "I conclude there is no god." Because THAT answer brings up only three more questions: "What is the point of living then?" Answer: "Propogation of genetics for the sake of the survival of the species." "What created the universe?" Answer: The Big Bang, although that is an event, not a thing. "What caused the Big Bang, then?" Answer: Dunno yet, but given that there's a few ideas the scientific community has put forth that, thanks to the LHC, are now gaining evidence for their basis, and none of them involve a cosmic sky-daddy, these aren't the proofs-of-god you're looking for. Move along.
