Bush -was- thoroughly more marketable. Before becoming POTUS and after it's a night and day scenario - whether you like the guy or not. Yale to y'all, y'know?

LOL, not talking about his policies or talking points Tonus, but his presentation, the marketable aspect. Seriously, google out some speeches as a governor and watch him deliver with tact, timing, a flowing vocab......there's a pronounced difference between the role he played as a gov and the role he played as potus. It's easy to see why he might be thought of as a figurehead - rather than a "decider" when you take a look at both (his pre potus persona and post potus persona) Bushes.

Really? I felt he had the same problem Clinton had, which was that he plodded through his speeches. He came across as uncomfortable when doing unscripted speaking, which he exacerbated with a nervous smirk that made him seem condescending. And this was during a time that I was supportive of many of his policies, heh. That may have been what set Clinton apart; he was affable and cool during the unscripted moments (Q&A sessions, for example).
Mind you, I agree that Bush was more marketable than Cheney from that standpoint as well. Cheney seems very gruff and boorish in unscripted moments, as if he doesn't understand why you're not intimidated by him. It's very different from the unsure and almost befuddled approach many politicians take, but it doesn't make him very likeable.

@ Tonus -I don;t realy put too much into unscripted moments for politicians, as that's not really there AO, know what I mean?

And the great thing for conservatives is once they tell their public that they have asked and received Jesus' forgiveness they are given it by their supporters too. Poor Weiner. He could apologize to each and every one of his former supporters and still be unelectable. Their is no absolution for those not supported by the medievally minded.
That's why I always considered jesus a sap. How many times are you going to forgive the same fucking thing before you catch on that your devoted follower is just a scumbag. Jesus would have to have had an IQ equivalent to Dubya's.
