Where maher and his priests stop their pursuit of truth is at the door step of real proof of God. Both the priests and maher believe that the RC church is the gold standard of God and because the RC church is fatally flawed causing people like maher and his priests to loose faith in God. But, what if the RC Church was not the God's Gold standard? What if not one specific version of Christianity had it all right? What if none of them have it right and yet all Jesus Christ centered religions have it right? in that God seeks relationships and not mindless tradition and empty ceremony?

Your buddy bill is working form a 1/2 truth and for whatever reason will not/can not seek God past the easy target that is the RC church. If he just sought God beyond the church he would find Him, as would those priests.

No but God does. He has proof designed specifically for you bill or anyone else. And as I said those guys stopped at the door step of real proof. In that the first thing we must admit to ourselves that nothing man can do (including religion) can truly and completely repersent God. They did this when they realized that the RC church is terribly flawed. Unfortunately they like many do that the RC church properly and completely represents God. So rather than seek God beyond the failings of one of man's more popular religions, they like you stopped, because you found the answer you were looking for.

Things that do not exist - and god is ONE that has never been proven to - cannot be represented in reality - they actually do not have anything to represent

ALL religions are terribly flawed for several reasons - gods cannot be proven to exist - the stories of their scripture are MYTHS and LEGENDS that include statements that contradict reality - which is where religion has NO place to hide

Example - In Luke - the Devil took jesus to a high place from where he could see ALL THE KINGDOMS of the world.

In reality - on a sphere like the earth - that is NOT POSSIBLE. From the highest place on earth today - based on the curvature of the earth - you can only see about 216 miles - so you cannot even see all the kingdoms of the earth that are mentioned in the bible from ONE high place on earth.
ANd - to claim this was a "vision" - is adding to the bible something that is NOT IN IT.

Example - The birth of the christ - which is said to be in the time of Herod - but also during the Census of Quirinius (LUKE)- but in reality - they do not overlap times.

Of course - there are SO MANY errors in reality - in the Old Testament -that the very basis for the religion is moot.





Unfortunately they like many do that the RC church properly and completely represents God. So rather than seek God beyond the failings of one of man's more popular religions, they like you stopped, because you found the answer you were looking for.
