I haven't in one word told you that anything [you've said] was "wrong", or taken anything on a trip around the Universe...on the other-hand?
On the other hand what?

Quote:You can wind me up and point me in whatever direction (here) that you'd like....BUT, don't put thoughts and words in my lines that aren't there! It's just....wrong! Whoever does it!
Says the man who makes snide remarks that aren't veiled enough by half. How am I supposed to take this now....am I to conclude that you are oblivious to the things you write- or that you're fucking with me?

Quote:In your zeal to poke holes in my beliefs you are taking way too many liberties with my thoughts and words. I don't do that with you, or anyone else. It's not right. It's not putting me on my heels to defend my postion...its annoying. "Surmise" that I'm intentionally a "good" person. But that ends the speculation there.
If I wanted to put you on your heels I'd demand evidence, and then insist that you defend scapegoating after that evidence materialized. We'd never get to that second bit if I wanted to put you on your heels though, would we? Instead, I simply accepted that you were a scapegoater - and asked you to provide me with a reason to become one myself.

Quote:Everything I've stated is actual events in my life. Take it anyway you like...but you weren't [there] so your perspective is from your own dis-trust in me and my motives.
I took you at your word that the story you related was true - and then I tried to explain to you why you fucked the pooch. Your motives were clear, defend your god. The manner in which you went about it was equally clear. TQ.

Quote: Save the faux defense, and fegining over my poor family (who would laugh at the very thought of someone defending them...like you I might add!). That is thinly veiled. Believe me...if you saw them in action...you'd feel sorry for me!
I'm not defending your family, I'm insisting that you form coherent thoughts. It simply struck me as strange that in the face of your god (and perhaps even more strangely in service of your god) you couldn't give your own family (or yourself- or your god) enough respect to form said thought. I chalked it down to what's below....

Quote:There is no malice for you, or anyone here. Yes, I can be a reflection of the way I'm treated. But I have nothing but love and respect for all of God's creation. Including atheists, like you, my dad and bro.
I didn't imply that there was any malice in that narrative. I flatly stated that there was ignorance in that narrative. You're going to have to find a way to distinguish between the two.

If this is going to turn into another "meanie atheist" thread you'll see alot less of me. I'm thoroughly uninterested.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

"Snide"? Name one? One in a previous thread?

It began innocent enough...but you are interested in only one thing.

If what happened was between me and my God as to how it went down....what do you know?

We're talking in two different languages here! I don't know wtf you are talking about...and you obviously don't have a clue what I'm talking about!

What a waste.

RE: Explain to me the math behind redemption
before you address why we have to spend all of time in hell we would have to first prove there is a hell. We also have to look at this "forever". Most people don't understand time well enough to even claim this.

Then we have to address "judgment". Human judgment does not apply due to lack of understanding so this "eternal" hell is a fallacy.

wait, why was your question worth considering again?

RE: Explain to me the math behind redemption
Religion is a mind-controlling game. It was designed so that people would behave, believing they were watched at all times by a god, and the reward/punishment were heaven or hell. Unfortunately, for many, this is the only reason why they behave like civilized people. Take away their religion, and they will go off the bend.

It was addressed to people who already believe those things. Feel free to abstain from responding.

If you continue to use that tired old story you "told your dad"..yup.

That you talk to yourself beyond the point where it can be called sane.

So we're on the same page now, correct? You understand why the excuse you offered in defense of your god to your families question was insufficient? All that "meanie atheist" bullshit that followed was what then? Are you going to waste your time calling me an ass the next time I call you out on garbage reasoning?
