Answered prayer

RE: Answered prayer
Please, please tell me you're joking, Drich. Please tell me you do not actuallty blame a near death auto experience on an atheist from an online forum praying for your demise. My initial response is to take you seriously because my dad literally believes demons live in the wind gusts that try to pull his truck off the road.

On a side note, I'm happy you're okay fgs!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Actually I wasn't looking to turn this into a theological debate. I was just making a joke and sharing an experience. That said if you wish for me to go line by line and tear down your arguement, know that I would be happy to do So. What say you?

For everyone just joining the conversation, yes I was just joking about the atheist prayer for my death.

Second how do you post a pic on here from an ipad? I went back and took some pic of how close we came.. Scary close less the 5ft maybe.

I never thought for a moment that you believed we actually PRAYED to your god. However, I do think there is real truth in the fact that you believe that we would wish you harm. And THAT is why you have failed yet again. You assume that you matter that much to us and that we share your god's vindictive nature. The way of Yahweh is not our way.

At one time you laud your god for saving your ass (with the exception of your underpants), and the next moment you claim incredible driving skills. Well which is it? God? Prowess? Luck? ...a combination of all three? To claim any is presumptuous. I'm glad you're okay, no matter how you and your wife survived the incident. Your driving skills sound the most likely cause for your survival to me, but pulling god into the equation is asking for a theological debate from people here. Get over yourself.

your one of the few.

Honestly and it is with all sincerity the thought never crossed my mind. The whole punch line to the joke was me playing on what I perceive to be the typical atheist stereotype of a Christian. One that you have demonstrated perfectly.

I do not care if anyone wishes me or mine harm. Truly I don't. Who do I have to fear with God backing me?

I am the type of person to say something racist just because someone is looking for me to fill a stereotype. I guess I'm an obliging personality. If your looking to be offended then sometimes I feel it is my job to help you down a few pegs from atop your High horse.

Not with malice, but in such away as to promote a discussion like this.

Oh golly please do. I'm sure you'll have something totally original to say, something that doesn't hark back to banal biblical quotes and arguments from personal experience (with an unseen and unmeasurable direct line of causation leading from god directly to your boring sphere of shittery). Or maybe, if you're feeling super swell and we're all really really lucky, you'll patronise us with self-rightous condemnation derived from your unrivalled source of contradictory moral bollocks. I'm yet to see you actually promote any notion of 'love' or 'kindness' that most of your less mentally derranged christian peers try to emit, and am highly anticipating a barrage of negativity again, perhaps including some as of yet undiscussed infectious diseases...........maybe like Hives or Cock rot?

Again, either you're implying that you're afforded a special degree of personal protection or that something makes your humdrum life more special than others. And again, no need to remind you that there appears to be no detectable correlation between smug religious confidence in superhuman protection and vulnerability to any number of life events, whether they be car accidents, cancer or crabs (and that's just the letter c). If this continues to be the calibre of your retorts then I very much look forward to your 'tearing' of arguments, soon we'll have enough keyboard warrior diarrhoea to rebut everything you say using only your own past quotations.

RE: Answered prayer
Funny, a great friend of mine and my first cousin died early and they were great believers (to the extent a child/teenage can be) and god killed them of overdose/cancer, therefore, god is evil!!!!!!

It's ..not a stereotype, Drich. This shits real to you guys. You truly believe god has "got your back" and yet many millions of starving orphans who have never had the pleasure of sinning, starve to death or shit themselves till they die or cough till they take their last breath. As I said, my dad believes that demons are in the wind and are trying to kill him. Fundies of all sorts remark how gods wrath is in natural disasters, and blame large populaces of people (even calling for their death based on what your Bible says about it). History over has shown people with your mentality to do atrocious things based on this superstition thate you have engrained in your thought processes ; Look up what happened as a result of religious superstition during the Black Death, the Crusades, or the the Inquisition. Throw in sorrow and a little fear, and your 'brotherly love' and self delusion turns into the most unspeakable horrors done by man under the name of god. So I'm sorry if I'm not all, "god be with you!" and shit.

You can't have both, Drich. Not here. You can either be the bad guy to everyone, which must get tiring--or you can be a decent human being with beliefs that differ from our own. Quite frankly, I think you're funny and I'd like to get to know the real you; not this character you've invented online. I'm sure others feel the same way too.

Big Grin in your understanding does driving experience somehow negate God's ability to direct a favorable out come?
