Unforgivable Sin

Unforgivable Sin
I did not realize there was such a thing as unforgivable sin - blasphemy. Do you think this is a 1 way ticket to Hell?

It's more like having full awareness of God's Grace and hardening your heart against it until you can no longer receive it.

RE: Unforgivable Sin
Yes there's an unforgivable sin, and it's not something so grotesquely heinous that the only rational response would be to vaporize the individual and try to forget they ever existed. It's just saying you don't believe Yahweh exists, or that he's good if he did, or basically to say anything negative about him. I think it really says something about a belief that the worst possible thing it believes you can do is question it.

Of course people who are not in a vulnerable position, like childhood, depression, or near death, are the hardest to convert. The only options are to let them keep talking, or to shut them up by force. That's why it's considered the worst of the worst. This is also why pride is the worst deadly sin. Feeling good about yourself and your accomplishments makes it hard to convince you that you have a void in your life that can only be filled by letting someone else tell you how to live your life.

Jesus himself said so.

RE: Unforgivable Sin
I heard once that it was originally supposed to be Ra that did the hardening, but that didn't mesh with Yahweh being the only real god. It wasn't enough for him to be the greatest. They needed him to be the only real one. So they had him be a dick, and put all responsibility for what happened afterwards on himself.

It's not even the only time other gods had cameos. There was a point when Moses' people were being poisoned by snakes, and Yahweh said to make a staff with a snake head or something, and pray to it. It was a symbol of a snake god of healing. We actually use that insignia on hospitals and vehicles in the states.

RE: Unforgivable Sin
I think the real story is that after the first three plagues, Moses goes to see Pharaoh:

Moses: god has hardened your heart, that you may know that he is powerful.
Pharaoh: if he really wants to impress me, tell him to harden my cock!
*The room explodes into raucous laughter*
Yahweh: oh, is that how it's going to be? SEVEN MORE PLAGUES, ASSHOLE!!!
Egyptian Scribe: *wipes away tears* "harden my cock" LOL, gonna have to chisel that one on a wall...

Who taught you that stuff, you should have studied when you were in church.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

RE: Unforgivable Sin
Another ridiculous Christian "notion." So, God. An almighty, omnipotent being who created the universe shrinks down to that of a petty human being, holding a forever grudge? Lol

Someone should tell him not to sweat the small stuff.

If God exists, that's not at all, my idea of him/it.
