GC

One can believe in just about anything when one already believes in something without the proper evidence to support its existence. Believing that it is is real does not make it real.

Why do you think being skeptical and lacking belief in things until proven is bad, frodo?

I'm pretty sure the old testament is more about wiping out your enemies than loving and understanding them.

I'm pretty sure Judaism (of the old testament flavor) wasn't the only religion around at the time. It didn't take Christianity to have charitable feelings for those around you, and if it did, it was spectacularly bad at it.

Being skeptical is essential.

I presume that you mean proven empirically? I have nothing against empiricism. I am dead against the narrow minded kind that excludes any other kind of proof.

Skepticism and exclusive empiricism contradict each other.

Someone should tell him not to sweat the small stuff.

If God exists, that's not at all, my idea of him/it.
God is who He is regardless of who you might think He is, that is if you were to believe.

God isn't anything, regardless of what you believe.

See how that works? You make unsubstantiated statements, I get to do the same.

When you want to have a productive, useful discussion, you will need to provide evidence for your extraordinary claims.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

Oh, you mean like the proofs that cannot be measured, quantified, independently verified, reproduced kind of proofs. The make-believe kind of proofs.
