You're being rather disingenuous and over-literal, I fear. Granted that scientists have created the first artificial genome - that's actually very interesting, I didn't know that. Now connect the dots between that and intelligent design found in nature, which the OP is trying to assert.
As for whether students should be taught about this: sure. Just as long as it is about the scientific achievement and not used to shoehorn creationism into science classes.

The universe ,in its construction ,reveals the the laws of mathematics and these laws can be calculated and diagrammed by physicists. This implies an intelligence in creation and underpins I.D. theory. RE: Intelligent Design: Did you design yourself?

Heywood, you know exactly what I mean. When I say "found in nature", I'm referring to something that scientists had nothing to do with.

It's mathematically improbable that molecules will line up to create a rock, yet they do. It's a claim Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???" 
I have asked about the prostate and God's sexual taboos on several occasions, and not to be funny. Why can no theist ever answer this question?
