Once Adam and Eve have eaten of the fruit they hide themselves in the bushes. God walks through the garden and asks "where are you?" Why should he ask? Didn't he know? According to the story he did not know, nor did he know about the serpent until he was told. God is also not omnipotent. He is unable, for example, to win a wrestling match with Jacob.

Most scientific arguments and logical arguments won't get through. Scriptural arguments might.

Several problems with this.

Almost every European was racist at the time. Darwin was actually quite a bit less so than most.

He had a famous ongoing debate with the Christian captain (Robert FitzRoy) of the Beagle, where Darwin vehemently condemned slavery, which was supported by Fitzroy based on the Bible.

Creationists are notorious for misunderstanding (or more likely lying about) the full tittle of his book, "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life". They mistake the use of the word 'Race' as pertaining to the races of humans, but in reality, 19th century naturalists simply meant distinct populations within a specific species.

Darwin talks about 'races of cabbages' in "Origin of the Species". Humans aren't even mentioned until that close to the end of the book.

You might ask him why, if the Bible is true in every particular, it lists bats among the birds.

Darwin can only be considered a 'racist' by the hypersensitive standards of today. Evolution is manifestly NOT based on notions of racial superiority. If Darwin was racist ('racialist' might be a better term), he was an extremely mild and enlightened one.

It was very frustrating to argue with a person that refuses to listen to anything you have to say against his beliefs. He eventually gave up, but I doubt he's going to question his own faith anytime soon.
