Some of us like to point and laugh when they come with their "definite proof of god's existence" and shit like that. One of them might come forward with real evidence for their vaunted god(s). Not holding my breath, tough.

I always enjoy their feeble attempts to back up their mythology with the best laid bullshit, I mean arguments.
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

To each their own I suppose.
I derive a great deal of amusement from these sorts of threads. The proselytizing ones are a hoot as well.
But my heart is black. My soul is crushed. Satan owns me. My god-shaped hole is filled with wine, devil-music, excellent food and sex. I'm a 16 yo trapped in an old geezer's body. Help me FSM! Hep me!

Pretty much. It's pathetic. Like a lot of us come on here seeking friends or anything of through sort...even education on atheism but then there's this shit. Oh, let's go on an atheist forum and start drama like it's high school. I swear their mentality is as low as a 1st grader with mild MR.
We don't ban people for being idiots, or posting idiotic contradictory self-defeating arguments.
It's a discussion forum, after all, and so long as rev et al are looking to engage in something that resembles debate, they're ok to be here.
If we just banned people for posting stuff we disagree with then we'd be no better than the theists and their forums.

And you overlook the fact that your god failed to prevent any of this suffering. Take a look at those children. Go on - look into their eyes, right this minute. Now tell me that your god is (a) existent and/or (b) loving and/or © powerful.
And don't give me that "free will" shit. Where was those civilians' free will?
Meanwhile, enjoy your new j/o buddy that "God" matched you up with while it has so much spare time on its hands. Back in the day, when Moses homies were being persecuted by evil men god was ALL up in that motherfucker! Didn't stop him then. Obviously free will was not so important.
On a side note, sorry for not using imgfit back on page 8. I was posting on a phone so didn't realize it would come out huge and now too late to edit.
Perhaps if I repent and pray to a mod, they might provide...

Have you considered that it *might* be because they think your arguments are shit too? For me it's simply because those threads are in R'lyeh and I'm not in the habit of going there.

I'd be down for that, though I've offered Rev a debate in the past, and he turned me down. Which is really weird, given his continued interest in telling everyone else who can and can't post in his threads; when he's given the opportunity to offer his arguments in a controlled environment, he refuses.
It's almost as if the martyr act he gets to pull when people don't do what he wants is more important to him than the thing he purportedly wants.

There's like three reasons why I'd disagree with that. The first is that, being a biblical miracle, I obviously don't think it happened, so using it as an example isn't compelling. The second is that "keep doing the same thing over and over even if you fail every time, because magic might happen the next time!" is just a dressed up version of the same definition of insanity, given reality's propensity not to have magic in it. The third is that... well, they weren't doing the same thing over and over. Fishing takes place in a dynamic environment, filled with life that creates a situation that's constantly in flux; Simon wasn't even casting into the same patch of water, given the nature of fluid dynamics. And fish move around a lot, so he wasn't casting into the same arrangement of potential prey. Lots of things were changing in that scenario.
