I seriously wish "believers " would all be banned from posting arguments on to this entire forum! I come here to communicate with fellow free thinkers and this shit ALWAYS gets posted. Do you not have enough of your own brainwashed peers to hassle?

It's a discussion forum, after all, and so long as rev et al are looking to engage in something that resembles debate, they're ok to be here.

You overlook the reality that sinful man who rejected God has caused all this pain and suffering. You also fail to look at the God has offered a plan of escape and already is working on undoing all the destruction we have done. Man does Not judge God.

And you overlook the fact that your god failed to prevent any of this suffering. Take a look at those children. Go on - look into their eyes, right this minute. Now tell me that your god is (a) existent and/or (b) loving and/or © powerful.

Rev - here's something you may not have considered. We have several Christian regulars here, none of whom are particularly shy about jumping into a discussion. Yet, none have come to your defense.

Have you considered that it *might* be because they think your arguments are shit too?

For me it's simply because those threads are in R'lyeh and I'm not in the habit of going there.

I'd be down for that, though I've offered Rev a debate in the past, and he turned me down. Which is really weird, given his continued interest in telling everyone else who can and can't post in his threads; when he's given the opportunity to offer his arguments in a controlled environment, he refuses.

It's almost as if the martyr act he gets to pull when people don't do what he wants is more important to him than the thing he purportedly wants.

There's like three reasons why I'd disagree with that. The first is that, being a biblical miracle, I obviously don't think it happened, so using it as an example isn't compelling. The second is that "keep doing the same thing over and over even if you fail every time, because magic might happen the next time!" is just a dressed up version of the same definition of insanity, given reality's propensity not to have magic in it. The third is that... well, they weren't doing the same thing over and over. Fishing takes place in a dynamic environment, filled with life that creates a situation that's constantly in flux; Simon wasn't even casting into the same patch of water, given the nature of fluid dynamics. And fish move around a lot, so he wasn't casting into the same arrangement of potential prey. Lots of things were changing in that scenario.
