Hey Buddy,

What “fringe” groups are you referring to? What sort of evidence are you referring to? Just curious.

I'm so glad to see you again Drich. I can't remember for sure, but I don't think I've ever seen you post here before. Anyways, it's always good to see a familiar face. Perhaps I will bake you some cookies Smile

Which forum did you know me from? What was your screen name?

I'm not trying to challenge you, but that's a pretty broad brush which describes a lot of Christian sects. By cults, are you refering to Jehovas Witnesses, Mormons, Christian Science, and such?

Along those lines yes

Welcome back, hopes all's well.

Not just that, if your camera makes a noise before it takes the picture that helps and if you're sensitive to light you can just point your eyes toward the brightness of the flash. Also you can just take 27 pictures and have a friend tell you which one is looking at the camera.

All very plausible. But so too is that person's ability to see, even if some what dismissed from the societal standard.

Go back and read his posts. You dont want him back.

Let me A/s/k you this.. In your tag line you present a double negative. Do you mean to say self delusion is the answer? If so what is the question and how long have you been sporting that tag line?

There's also an app to take a selfie with the higher resolution main camera instead of the selfie thing by giving audio instructions: http://www.addictivetips.com/android/aud...ar-camera/
Chances are there are better options suited specifically for blind people.

Edit: I went on and tried to find one, but instead I found this:

Quote:Have you ever heard colors? Heard shapes? Using the EyeMusic you can experience the visual world without even opening your eyes. With your ears open and your eyes closed join us for a trip around the brain and let us teach you how the world can be experienced with your mind's eye.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/eyemusic...61054?mt=8

Could be interesting.

The same thing can be done with shrooms and LSD for decades. No app needed

I'm sure it wasn't just me, after all it happened a few weeks after they bann my posts. I think they just moved and went to a submit it before they will post it friendly format.

things were getting quite here so I thought I'd let some unchallenged topics go by to foster some new growth/braven up some lurkers and potential new members, so I went to another atheist site, and found a whole bunch of new people to offend along with some old standbys. Then was told of a Christian/cult forum and it soon took up all my time. They got mad and censored all my post by deleting whole sections, and towards the end when that was not enough, the mods would take whole essays and say: "Drich says this" which was never accurate in the least. Then when people starting emailing me I was bann. Then I found a church locally. So my wife and I have been going to it. We will see what happens there. Good people who care about themselves and God.. Just a little nuts in what they think and how they go about doing it.

Quote:It doesn't offend us to call us good, so if it's for our sake, no need for the scare quotes. If it's to point out that we're not actually good, I'd say that's not very classy, and arguably unChristian.
actually quite the opposite. Christ himself said none are Good except God. My 'quotes' separate the Good Christ was talking about from the douchey kind of 'good' most of you are.

Quote:Good for you! I'm glad you got something out of your experiences.
Being the bad guy that no one can stop from tearing down their religious beliefs, was kind of fun.

I just took their understanding of church History and paired it with the documented history of the world. (Most of the time.)
Quote:That sounds like an interesting observation. I'm interested in learning what you mean by it.
someone has already summed it up as conformation bias. We believe first and then seek evidence to support what we already think to be true.

Quote:Have you heard the story about the traveler who asked the local what the people in the area are like?
no I have not

Quote:We're not quick to ban. It's not how much you disagree with us that gets you banned around here, just whether you follow the rules or not, and you've done a middling job of doing so here. I hope you find your visit productive.

Thank you very much.[/quote]

Welcome back. If you and the missus aren't doing anything we're having a little ongoing party on the deck of reverino's ark. Lots of fun, but be sure to bring the missus. Losty could use the help.

I know. It isn't like our souls are just going to save themselves. Undecided

Durning the summer she works late. So it will be just me till things slow back down.

Good thing we have Jesus to do all the soul saving for the both of us.

I don't see it but I was told I am very opinionated.

Hmm.. Thinking the world revolves around him: Check. Thinking he is the only one who knows gospel truth: Check. Accusatory without basis or verifiable proof: Check. Provocation baiting: Check. Throw in a dash of paranoia and a teaspoonfull of bullshit artist and yep, it's Drich all right.

Welcome back sir, I kinda sorta possibly kinda minutely missed you Big Grin

I'm not surprised at how the Christards took it when you told em they weren't True Christians.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

The best beliefs are the ones that are left standing after someone has torn down all the badly supported ones. You were doing them a favor.

Ahhhh I love that term! "A douchey kind of good!" I can definitely roll with that.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
