It was truly awful.

Hysterical uterus quite literally means "Uterus of the uterus" or something like that. That confuses me.

Confusion is an early symptom of an impending bout of hysterical uterus.

I just wanted you to know.

If I get anything of the sort, it's testy testicles.

My short term memory has been erased. This is ascribe to the proximity of the ship's magnetic coils. In addition, due to the proximity of the ship's magnetic coils, my short term memory has been erased.

This, coupled with the erasure of my short term memory, has left me a little disorient...disorient... disorientated...

I know one or two people here who would have the exact opposite reaction.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Almost all of my body just does stuff, which I have no idea how to do, like my internal organs. I often act on reflex or just muscle memory, seems hard to gloat over that either.

Even my "me" centre, my brain, is mostly run for me behind the scenes. My concious part is only a small fraction, and I'm far from convinced that I'm doing anything other than watching my concious brain do its thing.

Fuck me, I may as well retire, I'm a fifth wheel.

Self-awareness is a bitch. At least you can feel proud that you're not one of the simpletons that's walking around as if they're completely in control of all of their thoughts and perceptions.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
