Time frame is the issue. A dormant volcano is still a volcano. Religion is not what makes humans civil. Our evolutionary empathy causes us to over ride our tribalism, we mistake the religion as doing it and it is not the religion doing it. Otherwise there would be only one religion. The fact that all religions contain motifs of compassion and kindness should tell you that it is humans doing it and not the placebos we claim as being the patent holder of morality. Seriously Froodo read "The New Atheism" by Victor Stenger. It explains this clearly in the later chapters. On top of saying science does have something to say about god claims. The point is that our species has always been capable of cruelty and compassion. That is in us, not our artificial placebos.

Well I would hope so Bri. Of course I don't share your irrational crusade against religion. But hopefully we can overcome selfishness _somehow_ without it being enforced.
