All thru history people who live together have made rules for their behavior.
We have called these civil laws.
You are saying, no one has the right to make laws?

When I said you are free to do what you want, that means you are the one who decides your behavior.
When I said you can deal with the choices- that means if you violate the laws / rules and are caught- you can figure on paying the piper.
Again, you are totally free to violate the rules.
Just know the piper will probably need to be paid.

Per the Constitution, the Federal Government is not free to discriminate.

Just wish their reasoning was simply "We're all human beings and deserve to be treated equally" instead of "Because jesus said to be nice".
