This is Nice to See for a Change

RE: This is Nice to See for a Change
Yeah, we've been down the road of omniscience, but no one ever admits to the logical consequences. What "we" do and what an omniscient God does, and knows, are very different.

I understand the unwillingness to pick one side or the other, because either our free will or his omniscience have to go. To cling to both is to favour a contradiction over reality.

God is very clearly not omniscient anyway, even in his own book. He could even be described as ignorant. He possesses no more meaningful knowledge than those who describe him in his text.

Quote:Faith leaders from across Texas gathered Tuesday at the state Capitol, urging legislators to lift the state's ban on gay marriage and pass laws forbidding discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

I don't trust this. It must be some kind of a diversion tactic...

I'd love to see the legal precedent on the right to make choices.

They don't have the right to make choices for other people, or at least they shouldn't.

FNM and Losty,
All thru history people who live together have made rules for their behavior.
We have called these civil laws.
You are saying, no one has the right to make laws?

When I said you are free to do what you want, that means you are the one who decides your behavior.
When I said you can deal with the choices- that means if you violate the laws / rules and are caught- you can figure on paying the piper.
Again, you are totally free to violate the rules.
Just know the piper will probably need to be paid.

Not laws that are based on personal beliefs. Only laws based on objective benefits to everyone.

Keeping politics out of government?

How would you go about that?

Those words are usually translated "Rebellion" and these so called leaders, which you guys applaud are personally fulfilling the prophecy.

Good for them. If there's anything that needs rebelling against, it's that cunt of a god you worship.

This is seriously deluded prof wtf. In America, the people are (supposedly) governed by the people with the constitution as a guideline. All people are supposed to have equal representation and equal protection under the law. So no, they do not have a right to make laws that prevent certain groups from doing things that other groups are allowed to do.
Take a government class prof.
