I've been an American traditionalist -- lots of standard toppings -- but I'm getting into the less-is-more attitude lately: sauce, feta or asiago/mozzarella mix, maybe some mushrooms or a little crumbled Italian sausage, and fresh basil.

The best pizza I ever had was what they called a "fresco" pizza at Cheesey Pizza in NYC upper west side.

So, I used to say that pizza's like sex, even when it's bad it's pretty goddamned good -- but I think trying that bean and kraut pizza would make that aphorism useless.
