You know when you're watching telly and accidentally flip the channel onto some obscure soap and you suddenly have no idea what the hell they're going on about?

That.

A badly spelled Quran, I suppose.

Oh, so an ordinary one, then.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Apparently, no one has any idea what you are talking about. Do you?

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

My religious friend has recently started saying to me that the Earth is alive and that it is older than the universe. I asked him how this was possible and he just said "you wouldn't understand" because I'm not religious.
I've never heard this about the Earth being older than the universe so I was curious have any of you ever heard this before as it's new to me.

(My bolding.)

Pretty sure that is code for "you wouldn't understand because it really doesn't make any sense.". But you know your friend better than I do.

You are technically correct. But some of the people who retired before I am about to, were regarded as older than dirt. I'm pretty sure that is still younger than the universe.

For what it's worth, it doesn't sound to me like glare had any idea that the belief about the earth was a personal matter.

And it far, far from the stupidest belief I've heard anyway. The holy books do place Earth right at the focus of the whole universe and pretend like time began with the earth. We know through many years of careful study that this is not the case, far from it. The universe existed for a very long time before the earth was even formed. The only significant thing about the earth is that it's conditions happened to be just right to support various forms of life. Given just how many planets there are out there, it's not surprising that at least one of them would luck out.
