That does it, someone found old scraps of paper, that means men magically pop out of dirt.

I thought Joseph Smith had already fixed everything ??

Heck, he even mentions Baneemy!! Who else has a bible that can do that ???
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

One can only argue that the "founder" of any religion in human history, may have been honest about what they were selling, but simply mistaken. You could argue that they were deluded and wanted power and mistaken. But there still was never any human in our history that had a cosmic bat phone to an invisible sky hero.

I wonder if anyone mentions this kind of thing as evidence against christianity/judaism. From what I've heard, we have the original Code of Hammurabi. Yet the sacred text of the One True God has been lost for so long that finding something close to the originals like the Dead Sea Scrolls is a newsworthy event.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

"An eye for an eye" is in that Code.

You can also find older flood myths in "The Epic of Gilgamesh".

"Let us make them in our image" is in the older polytheism of the Ugartic text of the Canaanite polytheism. OT characters like El and Yahweh before those titles and names were characters in the "divine family".

Ideas of "Judgment of the dead" existed long before the bible in Egyptian polytheism.

There is nothing as far as ideas that older polytheism didn't convey that is original to the bible. It simply became successful through mere human marketing.

All it verifies is that some human individual wrote down his version of a fictional mythological account. There is zero evidence that it is in any way the word of any god.

See my post to JuliaL...but it costs more! One option is for my "friend" to provide a convincing reproduction of the signature. No one will question its authenticity...until they do. But that could be a while. In the meantime you should be able to make a handsome profit from a resale.

But if I can find a pirated version on a torrent site I might take a look at it for the laughs.

It is fine Corinthian leather with spools of polished olive wood. Nothing on the web comes close! (Well, ebay has something close). This is the opportunity of a lifetime!

Otherwise nit-wits with agendas will twist it however they'll please in translation, just like they did and still do with all the other scriptures. And the dumb masses won't understand any of it anyway. Come to think of it - it'd better have lots of pictures...

Hmmm...and ancient copy of the Word of God in English. That would definitely be a special order.

Sionnach, are you competing for my customers? Do you have a copy that is even more convincing, more authentic, more..(your word here) that you are going to peddle to the masses in order to make a bunch of samolians?
If so, I will declare your version COUNTERFEIT!
