ISLAMABAD (AP) — A man walked into a police station Friday in northeastern Pakistan and shot and killed a member of a minority sect accused of blasphemy, officials said.

The victim was a member of the Ahmadi sect, he said. Ahmadis consider themselves Muslims but are not recognized as such by the government or much of the general population.

Ahmadis are prevented by law in Pakistan from "posing as Muslims," declaring their faith publicly, calling their places of worship mosques or performing the Muslim call to prayer.

Apparently not "muslim" enough to be allowed to live in that glorious fuckhole that is Pakistan.

An elderly Pakistani immigrant beat his wife to death with a stick after the doomed woman made the mistake of cooking him lentils for dinner instead of the hearty meal of goat meat that he craved, according to court papers.

Defense attorney Julie Clark admitted Hussein beat his wife — but argued that he is guilty of only manslaughter because he didn’t intend to kill her. She said that in his home country, beating your wife is customary.

when you put it that way it makes sense.....except for one thing.

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — A pregnant woman was stoned to death Tuesday by her own family outside a courthouse in the Pakistani city of Lahore for marrying the man she loved.

The woman was killed while on her way to court to contest an abduction case her family had filed against her husband. Her father was promptly arrested on murder charges, police investigator Rana Mujahid said, adding that police were working to apprehend all those who participated in this "heinous crime."

Arranged marriages are the norm among conservative Pakistanis, and hundreds of women are murdered every year in so-called honor killings carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behavior.

Why not? Your country gives the minorities the necessary leverage to actually press their own claims over the interests of the natives of the country.
In a country where minorities display the necessary qualities for harmony, this would not have happened.

Yes indeed, but in certain places it is used as a form of self-determination.
For example, in India, the Hindus and Muslims are of the same people, yet in india, self-determination is based on religion. Until then, most Muslims there have identified themselves based on their religion, only a few, who have different lineages, have called themselves accordingly, like for example, Jat, Turks, Afghans and others who have assimilated, yet retained their ethnic consciousness continue to identify with this name.

Another example is the Balkans. Not considering the Albanians, most Bosniaks have until then, called themselves "Muslims", instead of a distinct ethnic name.
So the term "Muslim" denotes an ethnicity under specific circumstances.

For us, though, it does not. Turks are Turks, Arabs are Arabs, Tajiks are Tajiks.

But the victim was only 10 years old. And there was more: The authorities said her family members openly planned to carry out an “honor killing” in the case — against the young girl. The mullah offered to marry his victim instead.

This past week, the awful matter became even worse. On Tuesday, local policemen removed the girl from the shelter that had given her refuge and returned her to her family, despite complaints from women’s activists that she was likely to be killed.
