So, a woman from such a family might gravitate toward a relationship where her husband had more control over her life.
I was thinking about this today. After listening to an awful lot of religious people, I get the impression that some of them feel the need for authority. Someone must be in charge, tell them what to do, and have the final say. They seem uncomfortable with being in control of their own life and decisions. It makes sense that this could be a hangover from childhood. I know my childhood still affects me.
