Yeah, so don't do a Randy and take the toons from his book as reality. What first church? Look at Roman history for starters. One thing Randy never does. Right now you're just exchanging unbased claims with him.
Peter was a fisherman according to the gospels. What do you think a fisherman from old Judea looked like? How educated he had been. How would someone like that even get the funds to travel? How would he become a Roman citizen? How would he talk to the people, since it's highly unlikely that he spoke another language than his local dialect? It's equally unlikely that he could read or write.
They actually excavated a boat they used for fishing back then. That's how it looks like.
Now Randy would claim the holy spirit made all this possible. But do we really apply for his contest of ignorance?
LOL, how much should we really care about accuracy when dealing with Randy, for whom reality enters one of the holes, and gets blown out the A-hole? I was just trying to have a little fun with him, and maybe bring his arrogance down a peg.
As for me, I don't have a belief system, other than that those who don't know jack should remain silent, which is how they may even learn something. Knowing that I am already out of my depth with Roman history, I'm going to try and bow out for now.
There are two types of ideas: there is fact, and there is non-fact. Facts are determined empirically, i.e, what the King James Version says verbatim is an empirical fact. That it doesn't represent a ghastly mountain of cruel bullshit is non-factual. Therefore, please don't waste other people's precious time trying to spin Bullshit Mountain as gold!
