....you actually know that song. lol
We had no cable attached to our TV, but we could rent tapes from the public library for our VCR. My sister was so obsessed with Gem, from seeing it at her friends' house, that she begged the librarian to get the series on tape (which was a bigger deal, back then, than it is today-- shows didn't release "VHS box sets" or whatever, like nowadays). I will likely never get that song out of my head.
Me, I was obsessed with the original BattleStar Galalactica, Space 1999, Star Trek, StarWars, and the animated version of The Hobbit (must've watched them all a thousand times). Sometimes I'd watch cartoons at my friends' houses, like Scooby Doo, Transformers, etc., but it wasn't really my speed. I mostly read books and played outside.
It's funny you should say that.
Watching the cartoon was just the catalyst, for us.
the best part of She-Ra, ThunderCats, GI Joe, was making up a live-action game to play outside,
playing the characters ourselves.
(we must have looked like idiots, trying to "transform" into cars, lol)
It's a wonder than nothing like THIS, ever transpired:
