'Cuz I'd hate to think of those poor people having to suffer an eternity in heaven with a bunch judgmental jackasses.Oh, yeah, no judgements in that group.. Hey, maybe if you all can stop arguing with each other long enough about who was most wrong about God, maybe you can figure out how to get out of hell.
They can hang out in hell with me, and Asimov, and Einstein, and Vonnegut, and Sagan, and Wells, and Rushdie, and Hitchens, and Adams, and Shermer, and Neruda, and Le Guin, and Lovecraft, and Bukowski, and Pratchett, and Nivens, and Eliot/Evans, and Fry, and Aristotle, and Hawking, and Turing, and Wozniak, and Gates, and Jobs, and Heinlein, and Bohr, and Feynman, and Urey, and Coyne, and Venter, and Skinner, and Myers, and Penrose, and Susskind, and Crick, and de Beauvoir, and Sartre, and Proust, and Nietzsche, and Compte, and Harris, and Camus, and Foucalt, and Watson, and Mayr, and Halley, and Zwicky, and Hume, and Clemens, and Hoyle, and Greene, and Pinker, and Huxley, and Krauss, and Kinsey, and McCarthy, and Russell, and Pigliucci, and Sakharov, and Schrödinger, and Whittle, and...
Who said no judgments in that group? I said they weren't "a bunch [of] judgmental jackasses".
They're the people I'd rather spend time in Hell with than a moment in heaven with the likes of you. I suppose I could add Gandhi and Confucius and Socrates (and all the other Indian, Chinese, and Greek philosophers/thinkers) to the Hell-guest-list, come to think of it.
And why in the heck would they be concerned to have finally gotten proof (AT LAST!) that there's a god, besides the rambling inanity of barbaric desert prophets, kings, and priests?
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
