LV - I think you make an excellent point, here; America's love of vengeance is what largely drives the popular support enjoyed by both the Prison-Industrial Complex and the execution of our prisoners (often in ways that have nothing to do with the Death Penalty).
Agreed, america is getting ficked by industrial complexes. Prison should not be about punishment, but taking criminals and making them into functioning members of society.
