One early "church father" by the name Origen was said to have castrated himself after reading this passage of scripture.
Although Matthew 19:12 contradicts Deuteronomy 23:1 which says "“No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.". :-s
