Bad advertisment on your part. And I'm not only speaking of what makes the news and what doesn't. It's also when asked who's the greatest American of all time in some poll, people tend to come up with generals, sometimes presidents and hardly ever with artists, writers or philosophers.
There is some truth to this. Most people answer with Abraham Lincoln or George Washington. Occasionally you will get some listing the inventors like Edison, Bell or Henry Ford, but for the most part it is founders or those who had great influence in shaping the culture while in political office.
We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.
