There's just something about homosexuality... I think some guys think to themselves: 'Ugh, I'd never want to have sex with another guy,' and then they project this disgust onto individuals who do engage in these acts, considering them disgusting and immoral.

Yes. This is exactly what happens. So what? You may tell someone who is eating brussel sprouts "Ugh! That's disgusting!" And no one thinks twice about it. I tell a dude who's sucking a dick "Ugh! That's disgusting!" and I'm irrational, a bigot, a homophobe, etc. etc.

Calling a dude disgusting for sucking a dick does not make me have an irrational fear of homosexuals anymore than you calling me disgusting for eating brussel sprouts makes you have an irrational fear of brussel sprouts.
