Because it's Montessori, it shouldn't be religious unless one of the teachers is trying to sneak it in. My son goes to Montessori at a church, but there's nothing religious about his schooling. It just happens to be in a church. For a while they were learning a different letter every week, so I would imagine this was part of that.
