Not any more than discussing whether we are in any way important to far-off gases and rocks.

We are important wherever we happen to be, and if we someday travel to the stars or even far-off galaxies, then we will be important there too. We are so because we are life, which evolved not by random chance, but by necessity in fulfillment of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
