I used to wonder (sometimes out loud, to the irritation of my pastor) about these Bible verses while growing-up in my fundamentalist evangelical Christian church:
Of course, fundamentalists can play games with these verses, but it seems to me that Jesus thought that the end of world would happen within a generation of his lifetime. Saint Paul seems to have also thought this.
Quote:Luke 9.27: "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."
Mark 9.1: And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power."
Matthew 16.28: "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
