Live in Australia, Australia hasn't had a tectonic plate boundary near it for 100 million years. As a consequence of being totally tectonically boring, Australia has boring topography relatively unsusceptible to land slides. Also as a result of being tectonically boring for so long Australia's soil is more depleted then usual and large forests don't take and massive forest fires are rare. In Australia live away from the shore and behind the barrier reef so distant earthquakes can reach out and touch you via tsunami. Don't love too close to a river, don't live near where there are fuel for wild fire.
Thankyou chuckie!
I will remember to tell the people of Newcastle that the Hunter-Mookie thrust that gives them earthquakes periodicall is all in their imagination. Not to mention the various other places in Victoria and Western Australia that experience earthquakes.
Stupidity and greed make people choose to live right in the middle of a Fire-Hazard trap with only one road out not river is needed chuckie; just a ridge top with a million dollar view across the valley is enough to get you killed and your property burnt to the ground. 10 years of drought will also help in this area. Don't know why the government of Oz is sending all the refugees from Christmas Island out to Northam where there is no water and plenty of earth quakes...weird that.
