Well, maybe that's just that. My guess is that there are "regular" Christians that are your every day xtians and there are "serious" ones like priests & nuns who teach regular Christians, but regulars obviously ignore some teachings like on contraception. The fact is that almost all Catholic couples don't have 10 kids because they're obviously are using something, so how do they explain it to themselves? They probably think "That's going too far, it's a minor sin I'll just confess it every Sunday."

What is up with Christians and Girl Scouts?
Pastor Kevin Swanson: ‘Girl Scout Leaders should be executed for being pro-gay’
He claims Girl Scout Leaders have flagrantly violated the teachings of Jesus, which clearly state that it’s better for someone to have a millstone hung around their neck and tossed into the sea than force a child to sin.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
