In mainstream Christianity, being homosexual (physical attraction to same sex) is NOT the sin. It is acting on those impulses that would be the sin. Same as premarital sex, adultery, and every other sexual act outside of marriage.
The only difference is that premarital sex and adultery are HETEROSEXUAL sins, (according to the witch doctors). If a heterosexual person wants to avoid sin, they just get married. (And then they make sure that they aren't CAUGHT cheating, just like the preachers do.) If a homosexual person wants to avoid sin, according to the witch doctors, they have to remain celibate for their entire life. I have actually had a priest tell me that the other option was just to get married, like a normal woman. When I told him that would mean a life of nightly rape, he just shrugged and said "you would get used to it, women have gotten used to it for hundreds of years".
