I don't understand how this is funny-- it's a list of discriminations against the disabled, prohibiting them from serving in the priesthood even though they were born to the tribe for whom it was a birthright. (Still lets them eat from the food set aside for the priests, though, so... that's nice.) If it really is The Word Of God, as claimed by Christians, I find that god to be rather horrifying.
On the other hand, if our assertion is correct and the Bible is really just a collection of the bad ideas and social prejudices of one group of Bronze/Iron-Age tribes in the ancient Near East, it makes a lot more sense. Humans are the ones who worry about things like who's having sex with whom, who has a "gross" disability they want to keep out of sight, et cetera, not gods.
It is very clear, from verses like this and from many others, that the Bible is not the "inspired word of God", as claimed. Only those who wear the blinders of religious indoctrination can't see it, clear-as-day.
No, what is clear is the word of the bible does not describe your idea of God, that's all. You want a world/place where all are equal. Here's the thing not all men were created equal. We are not all adjustable wrenches that can 1/2 ass fit any size. We are all created differently with different strengths and weaknesses. God does not glorify one over another. We do that. we assign worth/self worth on our abilities and disabilities.
Here is where your 'judgement' of God fails. You wrongly assume that man's judgement or man's social worth scale is what God is operating on when He says no flatnoses or cripples can do "X". Again this is no different than one insisting on using a purpose forged 9/16 wrench on a 9/16 nut, rather than use a set of vise grips pliers to try and do the same job. Because the purpose built wrench is made for one single task, and the vise grips are a multi tool that doesn't really do anything well, but rather can be half assed into just about every situation.
We are the ones who put the premium values on tools and certain jobs. not God. Your assessment is as childish as wanting a mechanic working on your car to use a red screwdriver at some point and he goes though uses several different tools out of his box except the red screw driver, because he does not need it. How foolish are you to insist that he use a tool not fit for the job, just because you wanted him to use a specific tool??
Seriously would you confront a mechanic for not using a tool you wanted to see him use if the job did not require the use of the tool? How is this different? oh, that's right you have a screwed up version of right and wrong. You are working under the wrong assumption that we are all created equal. you believe all tools should have the right to be used on all jobs if someone wants to see that tool being used no matter if it is a fit or not. That's a sound plan let's see how long english is the primary language of the world when china is forging purpose built tools for specific jobs and using the right tool for the job.
