then you do not understand the definition of the word.

Self righteousness come from with in one's self.

My righteousness comes from Christ.

An example of 'self righteousness' means to identify what is 'right' apart from God. meaning you find 'moral authority' with in your self or a like minded culture.

I don't use the term as a insult but to describe where one derives his moral authority. Which is in conflict to how most of you use the term and is why you feel you have found a bit of irony when infact you have not.
