I'm not having children anyway, but if I thought there was the slightest chance my offspring could end up in eternal torment, I wouldn't have them just for that reason.
I don't understand how anyone could under those beliefs. I suppose it's arrogantly believing that their child will fall in line like a sheep and couldn't possibly disagree with them and join another religion or ditch religion altogether. I know not all Christians believe this particular dogma about hell.
The problem with "Christianity being true" is it's entirely unclear what that means. Christianity is different depending on which Christian you talk to. Even the bible can't be "true" because it's not internally consistent.
